MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOLS MORNING DROP-OFF PROCEDURES

6:45 A.M. – 7:3O A.M.

Please follow the procedures below to ensure a safe and efficient morning drop-off and to reduce congestion and tardiness.

  1. Cars should enter the MS/HS parking lot via the Woodrow Avenue entrance.

  2. All laws, ordinances, and Board policies are enforceable on school grounds.

  3. Drivers must be mindful of the multiple crosswalks students use to get from their cars to the building. Pedestrians have the right of way.

  4. Drop-off Zone:

    1. The “Unloading Zone” is marked by green cones.

    2. Upon entering the unloading zone, pull forward as far as possible and stop in a timely manner.

    3. Once stopped, students should exit the vehicle quickly and safely. Please ensure your child has all belongings ready before entering the unloading zone to prevent delays.

    4. The driver and other passengers must remain in the vehicle as the students unload.

    5. After the student(s) have exited the vehicle and traffic begins to move, proceed forward and be mindful of pedestrians. NOTE: If a car line attendants ask students to unload, please do so as quickly as possible.

  5. After passing the last green cone, turn left. Follow the flow of traffic through the parking lot and exit onto Woodrow Avenue.

    1. Note: High School Seniors with appropriate parking permits must follow the flow of traffic. Senior parkers should double back after the green cones and turn right into the senior parking lot. This ensures that Senior parkers are not turning left across outgoing traffic.

  6. No parking in the Unloading Zone.

  7. Students who require more time and/or special accommodations for unloading will be issued a “Drop-Off” permit placard that must be displayed from the rearview mirror of the vehicle.

  8. Any student who has a parking permit must display their permit in the rearview mirror at all times.

  9. Please be courteous and understanding, and remember this is a school setting.
